It's actually a pretty cool thing that most all cultures have something in which we're expected to take time off, visit, and reconnect with people we WISH we saw more.
Now, in some cases, it's family. In some cases we want to see our family and spend time with them.
But, for some people, the holidays are a time in which they are guilted and shamed into getting into rooms with toxic family for extended periods of time and come out feeling awful, which can make the holidays feel like a nightmare, full of dread.
Listen, this post is that gentle reminder that you don't have to do that. No matter what they say, if you hang out with your family and that means you get hurt and feel terrible afterward, I want to invite you to advocate for your own well being this holiday season, start a new tradition, and LOOK FORWARD to who you share your company with. ❤️🌲🌎.
